Mi posición es clara, firme y definitiva: el régimen de excepción debe continuar.
El Salvador no puede retroceder en la lucha contra las pandillas ni devolver sus comunidades a quienes durante décadas asesinaron, extorsionaron y aterrorizaron a nuestro pueblo.
Durante años, miles de familias vivieron bajo amenazas. Los comerciantes pagaban extorsión. Los jóvenes eran reclutados por estructuras criminales. Muchas personas no podían transitar libremente entre comunidades y millones de salvadoreños vivían con miedo.
Esa época no puede regresar.
Me formé en Texas, una sociedad donde la ley y el orden se toman con seriedad, donde los criminales violentos enfrentan consecuencias firmes y donde la protección de las familias constituye una responsabilidad fundamental del Estado.
Creo en una aplicación firme de la ley. Quien asesine debe enfrentar las penas más severas permitidas por nuestro ordenamiento jurídico. Quien extorsione, secuestre, viole, trafique con personas o pertenezca a una estructura terrorista debe enfrentar todo el peso de la justicia.
Las pandillas no deben recibir acuerdos, privilegios ni oportunidades para reorganizarse.
El Estado debe respaldar a la Policía Nacional Civil, la Fuerza Armada, la Fiscalía General de la República y todas las instituciones responsables de proteger el territorio nacional.
Mi mensaje para las familias salvadoreñas es sencillo: la seguridad alcanzada debe protegerse.
Mi mensaje para las pandillas también es sencillo: El Salvador no volverá a estar bajo su control.
No al retroceso.
No a la negociación con estructuras criminales.
No a la tolerancia para quienes asesinan y extorsionan a nuestro pueblo.
El régimen de excepción debe continuar. El Salvador debe preservar su seguridad y aplicar la ley con toda firmeza.
My position is clear, firm, and definitive: the state of exception must continue.
El Salvador cannot go backward in the fight against the gangs, nor hand its communities back to those who for decades murdered, extorted, and terrorized our people.
For years, thousands of families lived under threat. Business owners paid extortion. Young people were recruited by criminal structures. Many people could not move freely between communities, and millions of Salvadorans lived in fear.
That era cannot return.
I was raised in Texas, a society where law and order are taken seriously, where violent criminals face firm consequences, and where protecting families is a fundamental responsibility of the State.
I believe in firm enforcement of the law. Whoever murders must face the most severe penalties allowed by our legal system. Whoever extorts, kidnaps, rapes, traffics in persons, or belongs to a terrorist structure must face the full weight of justice.
The gangs must not receive deals, privileges, or opportunities to reorganize.
The State must stand behind the Policía Nacional Civil, the Armed Forces, the Fiscalía General de la República, and every institution responsible for protecting the national territory.
My message to Salvadoran families is simple: the security that has been achieved must be protected.
My message to the gangs is also simple: El Salvador will never again be under their control.
No to going backward.
No to negotiating with criminal structures.
No to tolerance for those who murder and extort our people.
The state of exception must continue. El Salvador must preserve its security and enforce the law with full firmness.
